On Friday June 17th, 2011 I had just gotten back from my OB appointment and was taking a quick snuggle nap with Josh before he had to go to work. I suddenly had the urge to go the bathroom so I woke up and felt a gurgle in my belly. Lucas was getting a bit squirmy in there as well. I went to the restroom and *GUSH*. OOPS! My water broke!!
I wasn't scheduled for a c-section until the 29th! So we headed down to Labor and Delivery triage, where they confirmed my water had broke (seriously the most disgusting feeling ever). We had to wait 4 hours before we could go into surgery because I had eaten lunch and the operatory was booked. It was probably the longest 4 hours of my entire life.I couldn't decide if I was excited or scared to death of him finally getting here. I went between laughing and crying. The whole time Lucas was wiggling and trying to climb back up! He wasn't sure if he was quiet ready himself! Josh was a nervous mess himself, but he was my rock and kept me as calm as we both possibly could be.
When it was time I walked down to the operatory. My legs felt like jelly I was so nervous. I had to go in and be prepped by myself. It took two tries for them to get the spinal right. I managed to make the mistake of looking back and seeing the needle. YIKES!
The spinal kicked in super fast. I couldn't move at all, and my stomach felt like a bowl of jelly.I couldn't even tell that they had started to cut me open when they asked me if I felt anything. Josh came in just after they started cutting. It was so quiet, and the drugs made me feel silly. It seemed to happen so fast, next thing I knew they were telling me I was about to feel some pressure, and then he cried for the first time, and both Josh and I started crying too! The first sight I had of him was his beautiful full head of hair!
Josh was the first to be able to hold him, and I stroked his cheek while they stitched me up. I couldn't wait to hold my baby! We snuggled in the recovery room until it was time for him to be taken to the nursery to be evaluated and I was brought to my room. He is truly the most amazing blessing I've been given.

Cuter than a button, I spend most of my time sleeping. When I'm not sleeping I am eating or crying! Hey it's a big scary world.I can recognize my mommy and daddy's voice, they are my favorites!

One Month:
I hit two major milestones this month in the same week! At six weeks I smiled my first real smile (and have been since), and I started sleeping through the night. Mommy and daddy are SO relieved to finally get some sleep!
Two Months:
I'm starting to giggle and show interest in toys. I'm cooing and making all sorts of noises. I can hold my head up pretty steady and I like learning about the world around me.

Three Months:
I am gabbing up a storm, and everything is a fun toy. I say my first words early like my momma did; "hi" and "love you". I'm starting to recognize my name, and I love cuddle time. My favorite foods are apples, pears, and bananas. I'm not quite sold on carrots and squash yet.
