Today I am 26 weeks and 1 day!
"At long last your little swimmer can see!
For the first time ever, your wee babe's eyelids have finally opened (remember: they were fused shut previously) and they’re probably having their first moments of sight as you read this (or maybe it already happened while you were brushing your teeth or browsing the internet or something)."

I can attest to that! This weekend Josh and I tried to see if Lucas would respond to light by putting it on my belly, and he did! It made him kick because I'm sure he was like "WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!?!?!" Poor little jelly bean, Mommy and Daddy have been having fun teasing him from time to time with the light.
In addition to that we have been talking to him a lot more. I encourage Josh to spend more time talking to my belly and giving it attention because Lucas chills out with me all day so by now he is most likely used to my voice and I want him to recognize his Daddy's voice too. I try to get him to tell bed time stories, but I never get anything more than a "Once upon a time everyone lived happily ever after, the end." He likes to talk to him about all the things he plans on doing with him when he is older though, and I think that's pretty cute.
I can't get over that this is my last week of 2nd trimester... darn! Where did it all go? I will be in the last 13 week home stretch in no time.
So Lucas has changed positions. He was completely feet up for a couple of days, and now he's back to making my belly look lopsided. Instead of being completely horizontal though he is diagonal. I'm starting to think the little booger is running out of space. According to the website he is 14 inches now and almost 2 lbs (1.7lbs).
Also my heartburn has become unbearable. I don't know what else to do since everything I've tried hasn't worked. It seems that even breathing brings it on. I went out and got prevacid, I'm hoping it will work, I plan on trying it tomorrow. I've also started to get swelling in my hands and feet. Ugh, my fingers swelled up today in clinic after downing a snack of chex mix... (note to self: reduce sodium, increase water).
Lucas has been a lot more active, he's let his Daddy feel his kicks and hiccups more often too. Right now he has the hiccups, and it seems like one of us always has them. I think It's hilarious when we have them at the same time.
Less than 7 weeks of school left. I can't get over it... the fact that I will be DONE, and then shortly after I will be a Mommy. I feel like it's so far away but in reality it's so close!
